About Us.
Joule Retention Systems exists to help healthcare organizations and first responder agencies respond to stress earlier, before it compounds into burnout, disengagement, family strain, staffing disruption, and turnover. We provide fast access to private, confidential 1:1 support for both the day-to-day stress that builds over time and the acute stress that can follow difficult shifts and other high-risk events.
Joule is built around the critical post-shift window, when fatigue is high and traditional support programs may not be available, easy to access, or used in time. Rooted in evidence-based support models and delivered in a culturally competent way, our approach complements EAP, therapy, peer support, and wellbeing programs by filling a critical gap with practical, timely support when it matters most.
Joule’s Stress Resets are delivered through our nationwide team of National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coaches trained in the Joule Method™ that's grounded in trauma-informed and PTSD-informed support for professionals in high-stress roles. Through this model, organizations can offer fast access to private, confidential 1:1 support for day-to-day stress that lingers, as well as for acute stress following difficult shifts and other high-risk events.
Joule’s coaches provide practical, culturally competent support focused on early stress interruption — helping individuals regulate stress, reset, and decompress before it compounds. Sessions can also address related areas often affected by ongoing strain, including sleep disruption, stress carryover, emotional regulation, relationship strain, post-shift recovery, and healthier coping strategies.
We created The Retention Layer™ as early retention infrastructure for teams working in high-acuity, high-stress environments. In healthcare, this takes the form of The Clinical Retention Layer™. In public safety, it takes the form of The Frontline Retention Layer™.
By focusing on earlier intervention, Joule helps organizations strengthen retention, support their teams in the moments that matter most, and reduce the risk that today’s stress becomes tomorrow’s burnout and turnover.
We underestimate the intelligence of the nervous system — and the power of what happens when one human being meets another in a more regulated state, allowing the body to settle, recalibrate, and return to center.

Meet the Founder
Joule was built around a simple idea: individuals in high-intensity, high-stress work environments need earlier support, not just later-stage intervention. In this short video, our founder shares why Joule was created, the problem it is designed to address, and the thinking that shaped the model.
